ThoroughlyreadtheinstructionsinthisOwner’sManual,observeatrainedteamofexpertsperformingthe
liftingprocedures andthenpe rformtheentireliftprocedureseveraltimeswithpropersupervisionanda
capableindividualactingasapatient.
Inv acareStandAssistandTransferslingsarespecificallydesignedtobeusedinconjunctionwithInvacare
patientlif ts.Slingsandacce ssoriesdesignedbyothermanufacturersarenottobeutilizedasacomponent
ofInv acare’spatientliftsystem.Usetheslingthatisrecommendedbytheindividual’sdoctor,nurse or
medicalassistantforthecomfortandsafetyoftheindividualthatisbeinglifted.
Weight Limitation
DONOTexceedthemaximumweightlimitationofthepatientlift.TheGet‐U‐Uplifthasaweightlimitation
of350lbs.
Assembling the Lift
DONOTov ertightenthemountinghardw are. Thiswilldamagethemountingbrackets.
Using the Sling
Individualsth atusetheStandAssistSlingMUSTbeabletosupportthemajorityoftheirownweight,
otherwiseinjurymayoccur.
StandAssistSlings:DONOTusethestandassistslingincombinationwiththepatientliftasatransport
device.It isintendedtotransferanin dividualfromone
restingsurfacetoanother(suchasabedtoa
wheelchair).Movingapersonusingthestandassistslingincombinationwiththepatientliftov erANY
distanceisNOTrecommended.
StandAssistSlings:IndividualsthatusethestandassistslingMUSTbeabletosupportthemajorityoftheir
ownweight,otherwiseinjurycanoccur.Beforeliftingthepatient,makesurethebottomedgeofthestand
supportslingispositionedonthelowerbackofthepatientandthepatientʹsarmsareoutsid ethestandassist
sling.ThebeltMUSTbesnug,butcomfortableonthepatient,otherwisethepatientcanslideoutofthesling
duringtransfer,possiblycausinginjury.
TransferSlings:Beforeliftingthepatient,makesurethebottomedgeofthetransferslingisatthebaseofthe
spineandthepatientʹsarmsareoutsi dethetransportsling.
TransferSlings:DONOTraisethepatient
toafullstandingpositionwhileusingthetransfersling,otherwise
injurymayoccur.
DONOTuseanykindofmaterial(suchasaplasticbackincontinencepadorseatingcushion)betweenthe
patientand slingmaterial thatmaycausethepatienttoslideoutoftheslingduringtransferring.
After
eachlaundering(inaccordancewithinstructionsonthesling),inspectsling(s)forwear ,tears,and
loosestitching.
Bleached,torn,cut,frayed,orbrokenslingsareunsafeandcouldresultininjury.DiscardIMMEDIATELY.
