WARNING
After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.
Replacing Adjustable Tension Seat Upholstery
WARNING
The seat upholstery and/or cushion MUST be cleaned regularly and/or replaced if
incontinence is frequent. The risk of pressure sores is significantly higher with seat
upholstery that is wet and/or soiled.
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 6.1.
1. Removetheseatcushionandbackupholsteryfromthewheelchair.
2. Placethewheelchairontoitstworearwheelsandbackcanes.
3. Unlatchthefiveadjustingstrapsthatsecuretheseatupholsterytothewheelchair
frame.
4. Removetheexistingseatupholstery.
5. Placethewheelchairbackontoallfourwheels.
NOTE:Rightandleftisdeterminedbysittinginthewheelchair.
NOTE:TheseatupholsteryMUSTbepositionedwiththethreerearadjustingstrapstowardsthe
rearofthetopcrossbarforproperinstallation.
NOTE:Makesuretherearretainingflapisbetweenthewheelchairframeandthebackcane
supportbrackets(adjustablebacksonly).
6. Positionnewseatupholsteryontothewheelchairframe,ensuringthefiveadjusting
strapshangovertherightandleftsidesofthewheelchair.
7. Pullthefrontadjusterstrapsaroundandunderthewheelchair frametopbars.
8. Slipfrontadjusterstrapthroughcorrespondinganchorloopandadjust
theseat
upholsterytodesiredtension.Securetheadjustmentstraps.
9. Placethewheelchairontoitstworearwheelsandbackcane.
10. Securelylatchthefourremainingadjusterstrapstogether.
11. Returnwheelchairtouprightposition.
12. Reinstalltheseatcushionandbackupholstery.
