SECTION 8—SUSPENSION
WARNING
After ANY adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.
NOTE:ThefollowingproceduresareforwheelchairswiththesuspensionoptionONLY.
Elastomers and Suspension
NOTE:Theperformanceofthewheelchairwillbeaffectedifelastomersarenotthesameonboth
sidesofthewheelchair.
Replacing Rear Elastomers
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 8.1.
1. Useanallenwrenchtoholdtheouterallenscrew.
2. Whileholdingtheouterallenscrewinposition,removetheinnerallenscrewfromthe
pivotpin.
3. Usetheallenwrenchtopushthepivotpinwithouterallenscrewoutofthemounting
hole.
4. Removetheexistingelastomer.
5. Positionthenewelastomerbetweentherecessintheaxlebracketandtherecessinthe
suspensionbase.
6. Compressandholdtheelastomerbetweentheaxlebracketandthesuspensionbase.
7. Insertthepivotpinintothemountinghole.
8. Installtheouterallenscrewintothepivotpin.
9. Useanallenwrenchtoholdtheouterallenscrewinposition.
10. Whileholdingtheouterallen screw,installtheinnerallenscrewintothepivotpin.
Tightensecurely.
