Maintenance Safety Inspection Checklist

*NOTE: For individual home use, a full inspection is required prior to each new user.

**NOTE: Regular cleaning will reveal loose or worn parts, enhance smooth operation and extend

life expectancy of the lift.

CASTER BASE

Inspect for missing hardware.

Lift Base opens/closes with ease.

Inspect roll pin to ensure secure base.

Inspect casters and axle bolts for tightness.

Inspect casters for smooth swivel and roll.

Apply a light grease to caster ball bearings.

SHIFTER HANDLE

Operates smoothly.

Locks adjustable base whenever engaged.

Check roll pin for wear.

MAST

Mast should lock securely when assembled.

Inspect for bends or deflections.

BOOM

Check all hardware and swivel bar supports.

Inspect for bends or deflections.

Inspect bolted joints of boom for wear.

Inspect to ensure that the boom is centered

between the base legs.

SWIVEL BAR

Check the hooks for wear or damaged.

Check sling hooks for wear or deflection.

PUMP ASSEMBLY

Check for leakage.

Inspect hardware on mast and boom.

Check for wear or deflection of rod.

PUMP HANDLE

Check for smooth operation. XX

CONTROL VALVE

Easy to maneuver and closes easily. XX

CLEANING

Whenever necessary. X

SLINGS AND HARDWARE

Chains, S-hooks, O-Rings and D-Rings each time it

is used to ensure proper connection and patient

safety.

Inspect sling attachments and material for wear.

Inspect nylon web straps for wear.
