SECTION 8—MAINTENANCE
Whenusedforinhomeuse,afullmaintenancesafetyinspectionisre quire dpriortoeachne wuser.
Ifusingtheliftinthe areaofashow erorbath,ensuretheliftiswipedcleanofanymoistureafteruse.Donotstore theliftina
damp
areaorinadamp condition.Periodicallyinspectallcomponentsforsignsofcorrosionandreplacethose thatare
corrodedorda maged.
Theliftisdesignedtopro videamaximumofsafe,efficientandsatisfactoryservicewithminimumcareandmaintenance.If
youquestionthesafetyofanypartof
thelift,contactyourdealerimmediate lyandadvisethemoftheproblem.
Thereisnoadjustmentormaintenanceofthec aster s,otherthanclean ing,lubricationandcheckingaxleandswivelboltsfor
tightness.Removealldebris,etc.fromthecasterandswivelbearings.Ifanypartsareworn,replacethese
partsIMMEDIATELY.
Regularcle aningwillrev eallooseorwornparts,enhan cesmoothop erationandextendthelifeexpectancy ofthelift.
Maintenance Safety Inspection Checklist
Hydraulic Pump
Allpartsofthehydraulicpumpareprecisionmachinedthencarefullyassembledandtestedtoensurereliableservice.Thepump
assemblyiscompletelyenclosedandsealedwithNeopreneringstopreventleakageofhydraulicoil.Asmallamountofoil(about
adrop)willaccumulatearoundthepistonfromtimeto
timeandshouldberemovedwithafacialtissue.
WARNING
The hydraulic pump is sealed at the factory and if service is required, the pump unit MUST be
returned to the factory for repair. DO NOT attempt to open the hydraulic pump or obtain local
service. This will void the warranty and might result in damage and costly repair. Consult your
dealer or contact Invacare for information.
